I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Grand Valley State University. In the spring of 2014 I graduated with my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. I also attained the additional coursework to gain a License in Professional Counseling. Following this, I worked at a local inpatient recovery center treating women with drug and/or alcohol addiction.

From there, I accepted a job working at Comprehensive Recovery in Ionia, Michigan. I received my Certification for Advanced Alcohol and Drug counseling, and did outpatient treatment for several court-ordered individuals who were in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction.

Following this position, I accepted a role as a Site Team Clinician at D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I worked with students ranging form pre-k through eighth grade and provided outpatient services, home based services, and case management services. In this role I interacted with students in their classroom and home settings to help them manage and develop healthy coping skills.

I then worked as an outpatient therapist at a private practice in Wyoming, Michigan. There, I worked with males and females ranging from ages 10 to 70 dealing with anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, addiction, mood disorders, and personality disorders.

At present, I am the owner and therapist at Urban Counseling, PLLC where I provide outpatient therapy to adolescents and adults ages 18 and up. I work with anxiety/depression, mood disorders, gender dysphoria, addiction, and personality disorders. My approach to therapy and psychological theory is an judgment-free, interpersonal style tailored to each client. My techniques include, but are not limited to, psycho-education, cognitive restructuring, exploration of relationship patterns, and communication skills. It is my hope that I can be a part of the transformative process of the individuals in becoming their best self.

I accept most commercial insurances and Medicaid, and cash pay at a rate of $150 per session. I also work on a sliding scale fee, which can be discussed at the time of intake.
